APPLICATIONS CLERK, PART-TIME, CONTRACTED-SEASONAL

 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Up to 52 weeks; seasonal hours as determined by the College.


CLASSIFICATION: ESP, Limited Term-Contracted, Pay Band P


ANNUAL SALARY: $16.00 per hour


FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt


HOURS: Up to a maximum average of 24 hours per week (part-time); flexing of hours and schedule to include nights and weekends will be required as determined by the College.

JOB SUMMARY: The Applications Clerk will input incoming applications. This position serves a critical function in students’ early contact with the College.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Maintain and process confidential information under the provision of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), including a wide array of student information.       
  • Must understand and adhere to the confidentiality requirements of FERPA.
  • Process a variety of student forms.
  • Interact with students to resolve their concerns and questions.
  • Serve as a “front-line” representative of the college and interact with prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff. Effectively communicate college-related information.
  • Assist in the maintenance and purging of records in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervision received from the Assistant Registrar.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma required. Candidates in the process of obtaining an associate degree preferred. Post-secondary work experience related to serving students preferred.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient computer skills required. Additional software skills preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Professional attitude, takes initiative, and maintains confidential information.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize assignments.
  • Commitment to excellence and providing quality service at all times.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and accuracy.
