Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN)
The Pre Op / PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients of any age in the PreOp and PACU department.  Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center.  Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members.  May have additional responsibilities as designated by the manager, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current PA Nursing License
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum 2 year experience in GI preferred
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Experience working in an ASC environment preferred
  • Must be team-oriented and patient-focused
