PeriOp Coordinator at Houston Physicians Hospital

The purpose of the PeriOp Coordinator, under the supervision of the Perianesthesia Manager and/or designated member(s) of the surgical services patient care team, the PeriOp Coordinator performs a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties relative to the operation of the preoperative and postoperative departments.  The PeriOp Coordinator ensures a professional and efficient operation of the department in providing quality patient care in the preparation of the patient for surgery. The PeriOp Coordinator will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide indirect care appropriate to the surgical patient population along with their family members and /or those that accompany the patient. As a PeriOp Coordinator, you will act as the HPH Liaison for select Physician offices.  

Position qualifications and requirements for the Peri Op Coordinator include:

• Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred. 
  
• 1-2 years clerical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record experience preferred. 
  
• Computer knowledge:  Microsoft
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced unit
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in work flow and volume
