Registration Representative | Baylor Surgicare at Oakmont:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs clerical duties involved with admission of patients, keeping delays to a minimum
- Ensures identification, insurance and all Admissions paperwork is accurate and scanned into the PAS system
- Directs patient to appropriate area upon arrival
- Ensures patient is registered and marked properly in the PAS system
- Understands how to add a walk-in or direct admit into the PAS system
- Prepares charts/packets as assigned
- Expedites patient complaints and concerns promptly to correct department
- Answers incoming calls, responding correctly or transferring as needed
- Assists with distribution of messages
- Responds promptly when code is alerted
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1-year customer service experience, previous medical office or hospital experience preferred
- BLS certification
- Good communication and people skills.
- Excellent telephone skills - ability to screen incoming calls, adequately respond to telephone inquiries
- Ability to utilize Electronic Heath Care Record system for documentation to patients account/record
