Welcome to South Texas Specialty Hospital

We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.

Job Summary: The Biomed Tech has oversight of all medical equipment owned and used. The Biomed Tech ensures all equipment functions with manufacturer-described parameters to ensure the equipment is safe for patient use and functions in the intended manner. The Biomed Tech ensures regulatory compliance in relation to the equipment and regularly reports to relevant committees. 

Qualifications

• A minimum of five (5) years of responsible experience managing a Biomedical inventory, preferably in a hospital setting. 
• Associate’s degree in biomedical Electronics (or similar electronics degree), or Military/ Technical Certificate in Biomedical Electronics.
• Certification by the International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology (ICC), CMEt (Certification for Biomedical Equipment Technicians), CRES (Certification for Radiology Equipment Specialists), and/or CLES (Certification for Clinical Laboratory Specialists) is preferred.
