El Mirador Surgery Center is hiring a Medical Assistant/Pre OP PACU

Job Summary

• The Medical Assistant (MA) will work under supervision with oversight from a registered nurse.  May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Director of Nursing
• Front and back office duties.
• Assists medical providers and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the practice policies and procedures.
• A great communicator is able to deal tactfully and professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
• Assists medical providers and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the practice policies and procedures.
• A great communicator is able to deal tactfully and professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
• Operates telephone system including receiving incoming calls, taking messages, identifying nature of business and calls.
• Performs clerical duties including distribution of mail and messages, monitoring office supplies, and maintaining postage meter.
• Assist with chart preparation.
• Assist with Admissions. Check-in pre-op patients.
• Copy identification and insurance. Communication with Pre-Op nursing staff.
• Provide relief to Admitting, Office Assistant, and Scheduling as required
  
  

Pay Range: $25.00 - $25.00 / hour
Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.

Bilingual preferred

High school diploma or equivalent.

Communication skills:
Ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of the surgery center.
Basic math skills.

Education:  High School Diploma required

Medical office experience, front and back office. Knowledgeable regarding prescription medications and medical back office procedures

Experience: Minimum one year experience in a Peri-operative setting

Other: BLS required
