Job Summary:

Provides diagnostic imaging services for patients and physicians by performing variety of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Review and evaluate developed x-rays, and computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
  • Key commands and data into computer to document completed exams into the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Operate or oversee operation of radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
  • Record, process and maintain patient data or treatment records and prepare reports.
  • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
  • Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Ensure efficient operations of the Department by covering the desk, answering telephones, by replenishing supplies and maintaining the neatness/organization of the Department.
  • Perform room turnovers with operating room staff.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Experience

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained. 
  • One year of experience in a surgical setting is preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

[California, United States] Radiologic Technologists and Technicians Licensed as a Radiology Technologist by the State of California, ARRT Registered

Salary:

$50.00/hr
