Job Summary:

• Provides shift coordination, staffing assignments based on acuity, skills, and workload.
• Provides clinical oversight and patient care. Intervenes or escalate when patient status changes.
• Serves as the liaison between the care team, physicians, and ancillary services. Leads “huddle at shift start and debrief at shift end.
• Monitors quality and compliance for completeness and accuracy of charting and documentation.
• Coaches staff, provides teaching / feedback and conflict resolution and support: 
• Facilitates resource management by tracking , coordinating  and replenishing  unit  supply levels
• Provides education and mentorship. Orients new  or floating staff to unit’s workflow
• Conducts safety and  environment rounds and reports safety incidents
• Responsible for providing all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. 
• Ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
• Cares for ages adolescent to geriatric

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
•  2 years clinical experience as an RN in the acute care hospital environment preferred.
• Current Arizona RN License. 
•  Current BLS and ACLS
•  PALS recommended (not required).
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good organization habits.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
