Sterile Processing Tech at  Marietta Eye Surgery Center

The Distribution Technician manages inventory, supplies, equipment, and materials to support operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. This role maintains inventory records, processes supply orders and requests, forecasts inventory needs, supports quality assurance efforts, and coordinates product distribution, recycling, and reverse logistics programs. This technician maintains stock locations, supports replenishment activities, and collaborates with the OR Manager, Clinical Directors, Administrator, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure effective inventory management and supply availability.

 

 Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Monitor inventory levels for supplies, equipment, products, and materials.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure inventory aligns with operational and customer requirements.
  • Add new inventory items and remove obsolete products from inventory systems.
  • Adjust stock levels to support seasonal fluctuations and changing business needs.
  • Forecast inventory demand and communicate anticipated requirements to vendors and suppliers.
  • Notify management of potential inventory shortages or supply chain concerns.
  • Maintain and update electronic inventory databases and systems.
  • Record and manage product information, including nomenclature, pricing, classifications, and item codes.
  • Conduct spot checks and assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and data inconsistencies.
  • Complete and maintain inventory-related documentation and web-based inventory records as required.
  • Process requests for supplies, equipment, products, and materials.
  • Track purchase orders, invoices, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Ensure timely fulfillment and distribution of inventory items.
  • Prepare and maintain contracts, transaction records, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Communicate product updates, recalls, phase-outs, and new product launches to the management team.
  • Research and recommend alternative product solutions, including environmentally sustainable options when available.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and recommending new vendors as needed.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by monitoring product, vendor, and carrier performance.
  • Maintain performance records and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Education Requirements:

  •  High School Diploma/Equivalent. Associate degree preferred

 Minimum Background Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

 

  • Must be in good mental and physical condition to withstand medium to high levels of stress and demands of a mentally and physically active position. 
  • Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, adequate vision and hearing needed in daily work.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds
  • Sitting 10% of the time.
  • Walking 90% of the time.
  • Pulling charts 50%
  • Bending and stretching pulling 80%
  • Medical office environment
