Physicians Surgery Center is a state-licensed, AAAHC-accredited multispecialty ambulatory surgery center that partners with area clinics to provide high-quality surgical care at a lower cost than traditional hospital settings. Position Summary
The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in supporting surgical operations and patient flow throughout the center. This position ensures that each procedure runs smoothly by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked environment while assisting nursing and surgical teams with patient transport and setup.
The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and takes pride in creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with transporting patients safely to and from pre-op, surgery, and recovery areas.
• Prepare operating and procedure rooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Support the nursing and surgical teams with patient positioning, lifting, and transferring under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all patient care areas and hallways.
• Restock supplies and linen as needed to ensure readiness for upcoming procedures.
• Dispose of waste materials in compliance with infection control and safety standards. Assist with setup and teardown before and after surgeries.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by clinical leadership to maintain efficient daily operations.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience as an Orderly, Patient Transporter, or similar role in a hospital or surgery center preferred.
• Basic knowledge of infection control and sterile technique is a plus.
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment safely.
