Materials Manager/ Surgical Lead at Bear Creek Surgery Center
  • Researches and obtains pricing/quotes for medical equipment/supplies and products utilized in the facility. Maintains files and is familiar with all USPI procurement requirements necessary to acquire, inventory and dispose of medical equipment, supplies, or products for the facility.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels by checking shelves, automated inventory system, and establishes par levels for all supplies.
  • Ensures utilization of USPI national agreements.
  • Interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure proper placement, follow up and delivery of orders.
  • Responsible for Utility Management Program. Understands facility maintenance such as oxygen, vacuum pumps, air filter exchanges and security alarms.
  • Interacts with sales representatives resolving issues and problems related to supplies or the delivery of supplies.
  • Establishes and maintains proper document flow and information updates for the automated inventory system.
  • Receives all incoming supply and equipment items.
  • Checks supply dated items and regularly rotates stock.
  • Implements and maintains all facets of the automated inventory system.
  • Conducts quarterly physical inventory of implants and inventory items.
Surgical Tech
The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.  Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years minimum receiving and inventory experience in a health care environment required
  • completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of computer inventory management systems, various software programs and medical products.
  • Working knowledge of stocking and storing medical and non-medical supplies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
