United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the country’s largest Ambulatory Surgery Center platform, is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale in Sunnyvale, TX.

 

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale is in Sunnyvale, TX. The facility is accredited by The Joint Commission. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale is a facility in which physicians have an ownership or investment interest. This facility is a 125,000 square foot hospital. Serving the community since 2009, the hospital has an ADC of 61 with an ALOS of 4.66 days and admits 4,500 patients annually. The hospital has 70 total inpatient beds which consists of 8 ICU beds, 9 Cardiac Step-down beds, and 53 Medical/Surgical beds. There are 7 OR’s and 2 PR’s where 400 surgical cases are done per month. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of General Surgery, Vascular, Orthopedics, Spine, Robotics (Mako), Podiatry, Urology, ENT, Pain Management, Plastics, Cardio Cath Lab, Urology, GYN and GI. HPPD statistics include 63% in ICU, 67% in CSU, and 96% in Med/Surg.  Roughly 460 employees (370 FTE’s) work at Sunnyvale with a medical staff of 325 physicians. The ED treats nearly 40,000 patients annually with 20 beds. The hospital is Primary Stroke and Chest Pain accredited. They are pursuing the Joint Center of Excellence by the end of this year, and are also looking to be a Robotics Center of Excellence and a Spine Center of Excellence within the next two years. $12 million in capital projects have been done to the hospital in the last 4 years.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will either have Surgical Hospital or other Hospital Leadership experience.

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides executive leadership for all nursing and clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CNO partners with physicians, administrators, and the governing board to advance the hospital’s mission, strategic goals, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and clinical departments

  • Represent nursing services in medical staff, executive, and board meetings

Required Experience

Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration (required)

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Proven leadership over multiple, complex nursing or clinical departments
  • Surgical background/leadership experience required
  • CNO experience and surgical hospital experience preferred

 

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN license in the state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
