Human Resources (HR) Business Analyst at Surgical Institute of Reading
The HR Business Analyst is a hybrid strategic and tactical HR role reporting to the Director of HR, responsible for supporting effective, compliant, and scalable human resources operations in our surgical hospital, hospital outpatient department, business office, and physical therapy clinics. This position combines hands-on HR generalist execution with workforce analysis, project management, and process improvement to support employee operations, regulatory readiness, and HR initiatives.
Under the direction of the Director of HR, the HR Business Analyst executes assigned HR work and initiatives, maintains workforce compliance standards, and provides analytical and operational support that strengthens the overall effectiveness of the HR function.
 
Key Responsibilities
HR Generalist Execution
  • Execute core HR generalist functions across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee status changes, policy interpretation, documentation, and offboarding.
  • Conduct or coordinate stay interviews, exit interviews, and other employee feedback activities as part of ongoing engagement and retention efforts.
  • Assist with coordination of time and attendance matters and employee status changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and audit employee records and HR documentation to ensure consistency, completeness, and readiness for review.
 
HR Analytics & Business Analysis
  • Analyze workforce and labor data including turnover, attendance, overtime, leave usage, productivity, and employee engagement.
  • Review and analyze relevant Press Ganey patient experience data and trends, in partnership with operational and clinical leaders, to identify workforce related insights and inform HR strategies related to engagement, staffing, onboarding, training, and employee experience.
  • Administer, track, and analyze data from employee feedback mechanisms such as stay interviews, exit interviews, engagement surveys, and informal feedback channels.
  • Identify trends, root causes, and retention risks using employee feedback and workforce data.
  • Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports that translate HR data into actionable insights for HR leadership and organizational decision-making.
  • Use data to assess the effectiveness of HR programs, policies, and interventions.
 
HR Operations & Process Improvement
  • Evaluate HR workflows and processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Support process mapping, documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives within HR.
  • Maintain data accuracy and reporting integrity across HR systems and tools.
 
Project Management & Initiative Execution
  • Manage assigned HR projects and initiatives including policy implementations, compliance initiatives, workforce programs, and system enhancements.
  • Apply project management practices to track timelines, deliverables, risks, and status updates.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of HR initiatives.
  • Provide responsive operational support to ensure continuity and reliability of HR services.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including demonstrated HR generalist responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting workforce compliance, employee documentation, and HR operations in a regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Experience managing or coordinating projects or initiatives.
