Patient Service Specialist at Surgical Institute of Reading
Responsible for greeting patients, scheduling patients, answering telephones, insurance verification and upfront collections.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer multi-line phones.
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data.
- Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based availability
- Maintain hard copy patient records as well as the files stored in our EHR
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must exhibit a pleasant, warm disposition and a willingness to help others.
- Must respect the responsibilities of the position.
- Must display initiative in assisting patients while respecting their rights to privacy and confidentiality.
- Must have a knowledge of the philosophy, policies and procedures of the facility, and promote same.
- Must be flexible and willing to help in all other areas.
