RN Pre Admissions Full Time

 

OrthoArizona Surgery Center is hiring a Full Time RN Pre Admissions.

 

OrthoArizona Surgery Center was designed with one purpose in mind: to serve patients undergoing surgery without the inconvenient overnight stay that hospitals require. Every procedure is performed in a comfortable, safe environment using the most technically advanced surgical equipment available.

 

M-F 08-4:30PM.

 

Job Summary: The Preadmission Nurse (PAT RN) has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. PAT RN may assume the following PAT responsibilities:  contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to be complete and provide preadmission teaching.  The RN can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from 24 months through adolescence.  The RN may perform laboratory testing required prior to surgery as ordered. 

 

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee’s qualifications and experience.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to recognize, evaluates, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
  • Excellent teaching skills 
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
