Position Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) provides clinical leadership and oversight of nursing and patient care services within the ambulatory surgery center. This role ensures safe, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise nursing and clinical staff.

  • Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection control standards.

  • Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Monitor patient care quality, outcomes, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and staff performance.

  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and leadership to optimize patient care and workflow.

  • Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation reviews.

  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to patient safety practices.

  • Assist with clinical supply management and budgeting as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or perioperative setting.

  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and ASC regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Work Environment

  • Outpatient ambulatory surgery center setting.

  • Collaborative team environment with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff.
