Anesthesia Tech

USPI South Texas Specialty Hospital is seeking a motivated Anesthesia Tech to join our team. We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms and 3 ER Rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.

Job Summary: The Anesthesia Technician assists the anesthesiologist and the circulating nurse with the administration of anesthesia and assures that adequate supplies are available as needed.

Job Duties:

Assist anesthesia providers in the OR with airway management and IVs.
Respond and assist in emergencies.
Order, stock and maintain anesthesia supplies.
Maintain anesthesia machines, crash cart & malignant hyperthermia carts daily.
Respond to emergencies in other departments.
Assist in other departments as needed.
Assist with positioning patients for surgical procedures

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Anesthesia Tech training
• BLS certification required.
• Two years' experience as Anesthesia Tech required.
• Good communication skills with physicians, staff and patients.
• Understands operations of anesthesia machine, monitors, C02 analyzers, 02 sat analyzers. 
• Basic knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement ideology.
