USPI South Texas Specialty Hospital is seeking a motivated Business Office Supervisor to join our team. We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms and 3 ER Rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The following description of the job responsibilities and performance expectations are intended to reflect the primary responsibilities of the job but are not intended to describe all duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Evaluate employee job performance, counsel, and discipline as necessary.
  • Perform routine Time & Attendance duties.
  • Coordinates and monitors all business office revenue cycle functions scheduling, insurance verification, billing, cash posting, and collections to ensure accuracy, even distribution of work and timely completion of tasks.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trainer on all aspects of team functions.
  • Trains, develops and motivates Business Office Staff.
  • Responsible for daily cash management procedures, as necessary. 
  • Maintains good working knowledge of insurance payors reimbursement requirements and updates Business Office personnel accordingly.  Maintains inventory of forms and office supplies.
  • Point of contact for issue escalation for matters that the team cannot resolve.
  • Reviews all business procedures and recommends adjustments to Business Office Manager.
  • Assists with the communication responsibilities of the Business Office.
  • Reports status of daily functions of the business office as requested.
  • Assumes any other responsibilities that may be assigned by Business Office Manager or Leadership.
  • Ensures daily that patients and their relatives are dealt with in a professional and courteous manner by the Business Office personnel.

Required Skills

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent; Two years of college or equivalent with emphasis on Business Administration, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ business management experience, preferred.
  • Computer experience required in windows, spreadsheet and word processing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
