Job Description:
- Assist the pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations.
- Assists in maintaining adequate inventory levels of drugs and supplies by placing orders to the wholesaler on an as-needed basis.
- Maintains medication, product, and supply stock for the pharmacy
- Maintains Pyxis unit stock on a daily basis.
- Assists in performing monthly unit inspections.
- Assures that the pharmacy is kept clean, orderly, and stocked with adequate office supplies.
- Completes monthly education as assigned.
- Receives and checks for accuracy of the supply orders, completes necessary documentation.
- Returns overstocked or unnecessary stock to 3rd party vendor.
- Understands and complies with rules and regulations concerning controlled substances and the distribution to the Pyxis
units with the required documentation. - Understands specialty equipment, keeps knowledge up-to-date, is a technical resource for others, follows technology,
policy & procedures, and standard of practice. - Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Vocational Pharmacy Technician training preferred
One year of hospital/retail pharmacy practice required
Required Licenses/Certification:
Certified Pharmacy Technician required
