Plant Operations Tech/Painter

The Plant Operations Tech/Painter is responsible to service, repair and maintain equipment and space under the responsibility of all Plant Operations departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals.  The Plant Operations Tech works under the supervision of and in coordination with the Assistant Director of Plant Operations and the Director of Plant operations. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.  The Plant Operations Tech assists the Assistant Director of Plant operations and the Director of Plant Operations in identifying and remedying all issues concerning the Plant Operations department.  The Painter/Carpenter works to meet departmental and facility goals. 

The Plant Operations Tech is responsible for construction, demolition, repair and maintenance of walls, partitions, ceilings, fixtures and any other needs as required to hospital building/s or structures.  Work will be completed to written and oral instructions specifications.  Performs all types of drywall work from installation of framing, sheetrock, taping and bedding, sanding and patch-work.  Applies finishes which include paint, enamels, varnish, lacquer, wallpaper and paneling.  

• Familiar with use of hand and power tools, paint brushes, rollers, scrapers, etc. as required for the job at hand.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness or work.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Must be reliable with good time management.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of repair and maintenance of equipment found in a hospital setting other that maintained by Bio-Med services.
