Cancer Registrar - PRN

Employee is responsible for assuring cancer records are abstracted and sent, as required, to Texas Cancer Registry (TCR). This includes identifying, collecting, coding and entering of the data into the registry database. Ensures the quality, timely and accurate submission of these abstracts. 

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Cancer Registrar or equivalent course work
• A current designation of Certified Tumor Registrar is preferred
• Basic PC skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
• Demonstration of good use of the English language with good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
• Ability to research identified problems with an initiative to identify possible solutions
• Ability to pay good attention to detail and to multitask 
• Knowledge of medical terminology
