USPI North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team.  We have 4 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colorectal, GI, Pain Management. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs before, during, or after surgery depending on assigned area (PreOp, OR, or PACU)
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, anesthesia, and post-operative care
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with standards and regulations
  • Support quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the state of Texas (required)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • 1–3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, ideally in Pre-Op, PACU, or ambulatory surgery
  • Experience in GI/endoscopy procedures is a plus
  • Strong assessment and IV therapy skills
  • Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities in pre-op and recovery settings
  • Proficient in-patient monitoring, including vitals, sedation recovery, and pain management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
  • Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • EMR proficiency and accurate clinical documentation
  • Competence in IV placement, medication administration, and emergency response
