What You’ll Do
As a PRN PACU Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care from admission through discharge. You will use your clinical expertise to support safe recoveries, anticipate complications, and ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Provide direct care to post-surgical patients in accordance with policies and standards of care
✔ Assess, monitor, and document patient status, interventions, and outcomes
✔ Recognize and respond efficiently to emergencies using ACLS/PALS and facility protocols
✔ Demonstrate knowledge of PACU equipment, including proper use and troubleshooting
✔ Maintain current knowledge of medications and expected anesthesia outcomes
✔ Provide clear and compassionate discharge instructions to patients and families
✔ Complete and document postoperative follow-up calls as assigned
✔ Restock and maintain supplies and equipment to support efficient workflow
✔ Support pain management procedures according to facility standards
✔ Collaborate professionally with patients, families, physicians, and team members
✔ Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure continuity of care
What We’re Looking For
Licensure & Certification
✔ Active Oklahoma RN license
✔ BLS, ACLS, and PALS required prior to clinical start
Experience
✔ Minimum one year of PACU, ICU, or Emergency experience preferred
Skills & Abilities
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Strong clinical judgment in post-anesthesia care
✔ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
✔ Knowledge of age-specific nursing care requirements
✔ Ability to prioritize and remain calm under pressure
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases

Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs

Frequent standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and fine motor movements

Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English clearly
