Leonardtown Surgery Center is seeking a per diem First Assist Surgical Technologist!
 
First Assist Surgical Technologist at Leonardtown Surgery Center:
 
Functions as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair of pathology and throughout the perioperative period on procedures for which privileges have been granted. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all age patients in the operating room. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room and/or Director of Nursing, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Graduate from a Surgical Tech First Assist program 
  • CPR required, advanced life support certification required.  
  • One year of experience required in an intra-operative setting.  
  • Two years of perioperative services experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. 
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
 
Pay Range: $50.00/hr to $60.00/hr (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
