About The Role:
Under the supervision of Surgeons, Clinical Nurse Manager and the Regional Site Administrator, the Clinical Team Lead Nurse is responsible for the clinical operation of the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Management
- Ensures that the Ambulatory Surgical Center schedules are utilized to their maximum capacity and established ratios are maintained for staffing patterns.
- Maintains compliance of the nursing policies and procedures to assure that everyone adheres to the high standards of patient care expected.
- Participates in hiring qualified team members serving as a catalyst and mentor for motivating productivity, innovation, high employee morale and commitment to the organization.
- Sets clear and specific expectations/objectives for team members and the department.
- Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and Regional Site Administrator any personnel concerns.
- Responsible for assigned execution of Ambulatory Surgical Centers Quality Assurance initiatives.
- Assures that all supplies, equipment, physical space and other resources are properly managed and maintained. Reports to Regional Nursing Director any equipment or supply needs.
- Functions as an advocate/liaison for patients, families, physicians, and other staff members.
- Facilitates staff education and Leadership Group activities (ie. QI/QA, Safety/OHSA, Policy and Procedure Review, Mandatory In-Services, and Orientation).
- Perform other administrative and clinical duties as assigned by manager.
- Maintaining compliance according federal, state, and accreditation requirements as well as corporate protocols and standards.
Clinical
- Coordinates and directs all paperwork and medical records for surgical patients, including consents and other required releases, informed consent, etc.
- Directs patient intake and discharge. Ensure patient is given full details of the procedure to be performed. At discharge, provides the patient with full written discharge orders according to Summit Ambulatory Surgery Centers designated protocols.
- Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
- Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
- Maintains all medical equipment, verifying that routine and periodic maintenance procedures are performed and logged for all corporate locations.
- Perform other clinical and office duties as assigned by manager.
At ASC Silver Spring, we know that nurses are the backbone of the ASC. For us, that means building a cohesive team that is cross trained to provide exceptional patient care in all areas of the ASC including pre-op, PACU, the OR and procedure rooms.
Our team primarily works at their home ASC, but on occasion, is asked travel to other ASCs within the area. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Pay Range- Min: $26.05 to Max: $49.23
(Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors Degree in Nursing or lesser degree and commensurate experience.
· Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland.
· Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an ASC.
· CPR and ACLS certification is required.
