Pharmacy Technician at Houston Physicians Hospital

The Pharmacy Technician works directly under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. This position should consistently demonstrate an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose the appropriate course of action. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility in the re-stocking of anesthesia drug boxes and floor stock in the OR, PACU, Pre-op and PSU; unit dose packaging; charging; receiving and stocking within the pharmacy; compounding sterile products; unit inspections; maintaining appropriate records; and assisting in related activities as directed by the Pharmacy Director/Pharmacist-In-Charge.

Qualifications:

·       High School Diploma or equivalent.

·       Current CPR, ACLS certified.

·       Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.

·       Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.

·       Ability to care for patients from adult to geriatrics.

·       Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse.

·       Clinically proficient in operating room nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the young adult, adult and geriatric patient.
