OCOM is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Pre-Admission Testing Coordinator with phlebotomy experience to join our team. This role blends clinical support, patient intake, and administrative coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and direct patient interaction in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients during pre-admission testing visits

Obtain and verify patient paperwork, insurance cards, and photo ID

Schedule pre-admission testing appointments

Make pre-testing phone calls and surgery confirmations

Perform phlebotomy and collect blood and urine specimens per physician orders

Prepare specimens for lab pickup

Assist with EKGs, including lead placement and documentation

Record vital signs as needed

Communicate abnormal results to nursing staff, anesthesia, or physicians and follow through on orders

Enter and update patient information in the computer system

Answer incoming calls, transfer messages, and assist with paging

Fax, scan, file, and transport patient documentation as needed

Assist with ordering and stocking supplies; ensure equipment is operational

Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and infection control standards

Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations
Qualifications
Required
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Active phlebotomy licensure
-
BLS certification (required prior to clinical start date)

Strong typing and computer skills

Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred

Experience in pre-admission testing, outpatient surgery, or clinical office setting

Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities
