Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is hiring a Full Time Sterile Processing Technician to join our team.

What You Will Do   (Job Summary):   Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing all items pertinent to the operations of the center.

Key Duties Include:   

1.                Coordinates and implements AMI standards for the sterilization of instruments and supplies.

 

2.                Coordinates the availability of instruments/supplies for cases as needed.

 

3.                Assures the adequate functioning and cleaning of all autoclaves and other sterilization/cleaning equipment.

 

4.                Maintains adequate supplies needed for sterilization process.

  

5.                Facilitates turnover times to promote operating room efficiency.

 

6.                Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance, and participates in emergency preparedness drills.

 

7.                Follows all equipment and safety guidelines, and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.

 

 

 

Monday-Friday daytime work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Required Skills

Education and Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of Sterile Processing Certification program preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience as Instrument Room Technician in multiple surgical specialties
  • Current CPR required
