Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is hiring a Full Time Sterile Processing Technician to join our team.

What You Will Do   (Job Summary): Assists endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures.  Arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operation of scopes.  Assists in preparing and in cleaning the endoscopy room. The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provides a centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility.  In charge of shipping and receiving, stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas.  Maintains and tracks inventory according to facility procedures.

 

Monday-Friday daytime work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Required Skills

Education and Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience as Instrument Room Technician.
  • Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers.
  • Knows operating room instrumentation.
  • Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
  • Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
  • Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
  • Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
  • Current CPR.
