Our center features 4 Operating Rooms, 1 Treatment Room, and the capability to support procedures across multiple specialties, including Orthopedics, Neurology, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Plastic Surgery.


Sterile Processing Technician at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Woodlands Parkway

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a key role in keeping our surgical services running safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and caring for all surgical instruments, as well as preparing instruments and supplies for upcoming cases.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of Sterile Processing experience
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing Certification program preferred
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers
  • Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and procedures
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing patient needs and conditions

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
  • Ability to organize and set up operating room instrument trays
  • Understanding of steam/gravity sterilizers
  • Understanding of Sterrad sterilizers
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
  • Strong attention to detail and organization

Required Experience

  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2–3 years of experience as an Instrument Room Technician
  • Experience working with all types of sterilizers
