We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation services team. In this role, you’ll work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility, restore function, and achieve their highest level of independence following surgery or injury.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the Physical Therapist with patient evaluations by gathering data and performing delegated assessment tasks
- Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, manual techniques, and functional activities
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately and timely
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist with coordination of care by collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other providers
- Support a safe, encouraging rehabilitation environment that promotes patient participation
- Maintain compliance with Texas state practice guidelines, hospital policies, and accreditation standards

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training, and rehabilitation techniques
- Ability to follow and carry out PT-developed treatment plans
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Strong documentation and time-management abilities
- Empathy, patience, and a supportive bedside manner
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Understanding of safety standards and infection control procedures
Required Experience
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Texas PTA license (required)
- Previous experience in outpatient, surgical hospital, or rehab setting preferred
- Experience working with post-surgical or orthopedic patient populations is a plus
