Position Overview:
The Materials Management Manager will coordinate and manage the procurement, inventory, and distribution of all surgical supplies and equipment across our four Ambulatory Surgery Center locations. This expanded role includes leadership responsibilities to oversee materials management operations, improve process efficiency, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The manager will act as a key liaison between the surgical teams and supply vendors to support the highest level of patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee day-to-day materials supply operations for multiple surgical centers, ensuring seamless procurement, inventory control, and distribution of surgical supplies and equipment

Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize costs and service levels

Coordinate purchasing, receiving, storage, distribution, and record-keeping while maintaining accurate inventory levels and compliance with regulatory standards

Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance departmental performance, customer service, and communication across all locations

Supervise and provide guidance to materials management staff and collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support operations

Monitor and analyze materials usage, supply chain metrics, and budget to recommend improvements and control costs

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of operating room supplies, instruments, and implants to support clinical needs and specialties

Ensure adherence to safety protocols in sterile environments and manage physical inventory audits regularly

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred

Minimum of three years of experience in materials management or supply chain within a healthcare setting, including supervisory experience

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and materials management or ERP software

Strong analytical skills and experience with inventory control, procurement, and vendor management

Detail-oriented with the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform daily warehouse and supply-related tasks

Commitment to working in clean and sterile medical environments
