Operating Room Registered Nurse Supervisor at Houston Physicians Hospital

The Operating Room Supervisor has responsibility for supervising staff in accordance with policies, procedures, industry standards of practice, JC standards, and per direction of the Director. This individual assists in scrub and circulator roles to assist staff as needed.  Accountabilities include overseeing supply and equipment requirements for cases, coordinating orientation plans for new staff, assisting in the evaluation process of staff members in the OR, managing staff timekeeping, and managing projects as assigned by the Director. The OR Supervisor will be in charge of SPD and oversee the daily activities of the Sterile Processing Department.

Qualifications

  •        Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  •        BSN preferred
  •        Current TX Nursing License
  •        BLS current, ACLS and PALS required, must be obtained within 60 days of hire

Required Experience:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in surgery as circulator and scrub tech preferred.
  •            Two (2) years’ experience in surgery management as a service coordinator or charge position preferred
