USPI Theda Oaks Gastro and Endo is seeking a motivated PreOp/PACU/Circulator to join our team. Our team is small, but we are mighty! Current operations are M-F, 5:30 a.m. - 6:30p.m., however hours will depend on patient flow. We have 4 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology and Pain Management
Pre-operative Duties
- Assess the status of patients’ health in pre-op and ensure accuracy of identification wristband
- Ensure that operative and informed consents are in order
- Determine the surgeon and procedure being carried out
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
- Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure and attending medical staff
Post-operative Duties
- Assess patients’ condition after a surgery has been performed
- Ensure that all vitals are within normal range
- Log all findings in patients’ files
- Answer patients’ questions and ensure that they are kept comfortable
- Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor
- Initiate patient education programs to ensure that both patients and families are educated on procedures and medications
- Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies
OR Circulating Duties
- Assisting with equipment
- Serving as a patient advocate and ensuring patient safety at all times
- Assisting with positioning the patient
- Monitoring the patient's condition throughout the entire surgical process and acting quickly to respond to any changes
- Maintaining the sterile field at all times
- Exhibiting skillful clinical judgment and assessment skills

Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Current Texas Nursing License
- Current CPR, ACLS, and BLS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 2-year experience in a hospital setting or ASC setting
- Any perioperative setting is appreciated, but not all areas required as we cross train
