Pre-Op Pre-Admission Nurse RN Full Time
The Preadmission Nurse RN will assume the following responsibilities: Contact by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery or procedures to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate labs, EKG’s, and medical clearances.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assesses information/documents and maintaining confidentiality.
- Responsible to perform pre-op calls to all Surgical/Procedural patients
- Follows appropriate communication channels.
- There will be add on’s daily throughout the day. PAT tech will print out charts until his/her shift is complete. Any add on’s after the PAT leaves will be the responsibility of the pre-admission nurse.
- Maintain current RN/LVN license. *Responsible to follow up on GI/Pain calls with PAT Tech
- Responsible to complete anesthesia review sheet after chart review for any patients that need further evaluation from anesthesia for either BMI/EKG/Labs or other co-morbities in the H&P.
- Alert medical director/anesthesia to any cases that may not be appropriate for the ambulatory surgery center.
- Use the HSC cell phone to contact medical director as needed to obtain clearance for any pending cases.
- Work with doctors and their offices to ensure optimal interventions at HSC
- Attend required staff meetings and in services PRN.
- Accountable to Pre-op/PACU Manager
Hourly Wage: $55-$80 per hour.
Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical/procedural patient
- Must be a Registered Nurse Or an LVN with an unrestricted license in the state of CA
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
- Current BLS, ALS
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
