Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about ensuring accurate and secure health records? Join our team as a Health Information Management (HIM) Coordinator! In this role, you’ll support the HIM Director and play a vital part in managing patient records, release of information, and medical record documentation processes.
What You’ll Do
As the HIM Coordinator, you will:

Assist the HIM Director and facility administrator with projects and departmental initiatives.

Review and analyze patient records post-discharge for accuracy and completeness.

Maintain medical record files, process loose documentation, and manage transcribed reports.

Handle release of information requests in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.

Provide staff education and act as a resource for documentation standards and compliance.

Generate and distribute deficiency reports, ensuring physician follow-up.

Support hospital-wide initiatives while promoting a positive public image.

Uphold strict confidentiality and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required; college education preferred.

Previous experience in Health Information Management required.

Knowledge of coding rules is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication (written & verbal) and organizational skills.

Proficiency with EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and office equipment.

Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Understanding of HIPAA and release of information guidelines.

Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
