El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo is hiring an Endoscopy Technician

Welcome to El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo
We have 5 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Plastics, Podiatry, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Endoscopy Technician at El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo

Job Summary: The Endo Tech assists endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures. They arrange and inventory sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the endoscopy team. Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the endoscopy room. The Endo Tech is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provides a centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility. The tech also stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas. Maintains and tracks inventory according to facility procedures. This position reports to the Charge Nurse and ASC Director.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
May perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED
2+ years’ experience in established endoscopy center
Must have working knowledge of standard Gastroenterology procedures.
