Medical Technologist - Lab

We are seeking a PRN Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory team. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic results that directly support patient safety, surgical outcomes, and clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA, TJC, and CAP standards
• Conduct correlation studies, linearity checks, and quality control monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
• Analyze and summarize test results for review and approval by the Lab Manager
• Perform Point of Care Testing (POCT) accurately and efficiently
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment, including routine maintenance and problem resolution
• Order reagents and manage supply inventory to support uninterrupted laboratory operations
• Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for data reporting and quality tracking
• Provide exceptional service to patients, physicians, and staff, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills
• Detect and interpret color changes and other visual indicators in testing procedures
• Recommend laboratory supplies or equipment to enhance efficiency and program quality
• Ensure compliance with governmental and regulatory policies and standards
• Qualifications
• Two- or four-year degree in Laboratory Science or related field
• Current registration with ASCP or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1–2 years of laboratory experience in an accredited laboratory or hospital environment
• Experience with Point of Care Testing (POCT)
• Knowledge of governmental and regulatory standards, including CLIA, TJC, and CAP

• Excellent phlebotomy skills and specimen handling

• Experience maintaining laboratory instruments, tracking supplies, and documenting test results accurately
