Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is seeking a qualified Certified Surgical Technologist!
Certified Surgical Technologist/Operating Room Technician at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:
- Under the general supervision of the OR Supervisor, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Scrub Tech is responsible for providing surgical scrub on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competence.
- Sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
- Applies specialized knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
- Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
- Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
- Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
- Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
- Alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.
- Utilizes appropriate lines of accountability for the continuous improvement of quality.

Required Skills
EDUCATION:
- High school graduate or equivalent
Licensure/Certification:
- Prior verifiable experience as a scrub technician on the OR setting prior to 2009
Or
- Certification in OR Technology as a (C-SA or C-ST) required.
- BLS required.
Required Experience
Specific Job Experience:
- Previous clinical experience in Operating Room environment desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Able to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians and employees.
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures specific to an OR.
- Ability to utilize electronic health care record for patient documentation.
