Pre Admission Testing RN at Surgical Specialists at Princeton

The Preadmission Testing RN (PAT RN) has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. PAT RN may assume the following PAT responsibilities:  contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to completed and provide preadmission teaching.  The RN may perform laboratory testing required prior to surgery as ordered.   

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
  • 1+ year of experience in an intra-operative setting.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
