Phlebotomist at South Texas Specialty Hospital

Collects blood from patients; checks quality of blood/specimens; assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of the patient following established standards and practices.  Performs clerical functions such as answering phones and charting of lab results. Responsible for specified computer and department maintenance as required.  Must be detail-oriented; organized; people-oriented. Must be able to chart, file, and have working knowledge of all computer systems used within the clinical laboratory.

Qualifications·

High School diploma or equivalent
Certification required
Phlebotomy course or similar on the job training required
Minimum of two (2) years of previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to detect color and color changes.
