As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a PRN PreOp PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our PreOp/PACU team. As a PreOp/PACU RN at Gastro One, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients throughout their surgical journey. You will collaborate closely with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and maintain the highest standards of patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures by conducting thorough assessments and obtaining medical histories.
  • Administer medications and provide preoperative education to patients and their families.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during the preoperative phase.
  • Assist with the transition of patients to the operating room.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care in the PACU, including monitoring vital signs, pain management, and assessing patients' readiness for discharge.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a seamless patient care experience.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain patient records.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Please note that occasional Saturdays are required.

Required Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of TN
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong IV skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
