Quality Registered Nurse (Quality RN)
The Quality RN proactively develops and supports the Quality Improvement program in compliance with regulatory, federal and state requirements. Position requires a person who is well organized and demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail. May be delegated additional responsibilities or special assignments.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively develops and implements a Quality Improvement plan that meets regulatory requirements and applies recommendations into policies/procedures/practices as appropriate.
- Can identify and measure quality indicators for specific departments in perioperative services.
- Assists in the aggregation, analyzing and benchmarking of data and reports findings to the appropriate committees, including MEC and Governing Body.
- Ensures the minutes of meetings reflect the Quality and PI reports discussed and includes attachments.
- Meets customer expectations by actualizing “EDGE” – Every Day Giving Excellence.
- Assists in evaluating new products, techniques and/or methods and provides appropriate feedback for quality improvement purposes.
- Participates on Performance Improvement teams to improve processes whenever possible.
- Knowledgeable of identification and reporting of a Sentinel Event.
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirement (State and CMS) and accreditation standards related to Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement.
- Knowledgeable of facility Performance Improvement Program, and role of department and individual employee.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
- Current State of Georgia Nursing License
- Current CPR & ACLS
- One year experience required peri-operative setting.
- Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
