Memorial Hermann Cypress is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Business Office Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day operations of our business office, ensuring efficient administrative processes and exceptional patient service.
As part of our collaborative environment, the Business Office Coordinator will handle a variety of responsibilities, including scheduling, insurance verification, billing, collections, and patient account management. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily business office activities, ensuring smooth operational workflow.
- Oversee scheduling and patient registration, verifying demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate billing and collections.
- Maintain patient accounts, processing payments and reconciling accounts as needed.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing necessary reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other applicable healthcare standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and vendors.
- Support management with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of business office, medical billing, or healthcare administration experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, billing, and collections processes.
