Alvarado Eye Surgery Center (also known as St. Vincent Eye Surgery Medical Center), is hiring a Full-time Certified Surgical Tech/Sterile Processing Tech to join our dedicated team. 

Job Summary: 

The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases. The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.  Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Computer skills, required
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
  • Six months of experience, preferred
  • 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers.
  • Knows operating room instrumentation.
  • Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
  • Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
  • Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
  • Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Pay range: $24.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience.
