Scottsdale Endoscopy Center is hiring a full time Patient Care Technician

 

At Scottsdale Endoscopy Center, we believe health and care are inseparable. We focus on offering a high quality, service-oriented environment for your endoscopic procedure. With 4 Endoscopy Rooms, our technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: Gastroenterology including: EGDs, Colonoscopy, EGD/Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy.

 

Job Summary: Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with changing linens, ambulation, and transport. Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment. Assists during patient examinations and procedures. Obtains and records patient vital signs, provides nutritional intake and reports results and observations. Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical and/or procedural services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
  • Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards
  • Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
  • Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
  • Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
  • Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
  • Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
  • Informs Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
  • Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current CPR or BLS.
  • CNA, MA or other certifications preferred.
  • One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
  • Patient Interviewing skills
  • Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
  • Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
