The Director of Facilities is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. The position plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion.
2. Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates.
3. Inspects construction and installation progress.
4. Initiates planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment.
5. Manages preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, and office equipment.
6. Oversees the cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
7. Conducts and critiques fire drills.
8. Responsible to manage risk, coordinate risk reduction activities in the physical environment, collect deficiency information, and disseminate summaries of actions and results. Is responsible for managing the following plans:
· Environmental Safety
· Security
· Hazardous Materials and Waste
· Fire Safety
· Medical Equipment
· Utility Systems
9. Responsible for assessing compliance with the life safety code and manage the statement of conditions (SOC) when addressing survey-related deficiencies.
10. Chairs the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee.
SUPERVISORY RESPOSIBILITIES
This position supervises various contracting crews, including parking attendants, janitors, and building maintenance personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. BS or Associates Degree with technical training in plant engineering or factory/plant maintenance strongly desired.
2. Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field, two of which were holding a supervisory position directing multifunctional maintenance staff.
3. Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
4. Knowledge of the Life Safety Code.
5. Strong interpersonal skills beneficial. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
2. Frequent standing, bending, and stooping involved.
3. Dexterity: Frequent repetitive motion of hands/wrist involved.
4. Lifting heavy objects
