Our surgery center is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. Our fast paced ASC is committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Computer skills, required
- CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
- Six months of experience, preferred
- 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
- Experience with all types of sterilizers.
- Knows operating room instrumentation.
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
- Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
- Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
- Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
- Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Required Skills
- Strong understanding of sterilization techniques, infection control, and surgical instrumentation
- Familiarity with medical terminology, OR tray setups, and supply chain processes
- Ability to work independently and stay organized in a busy environment
- Comfortable using computer systems to track inventory and document sterilization logs
- Team-first mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Quick to adapt and willing to jump in where needed to support the surgical team
Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in sterile processing or operating room instrumentation strongly preferred
- Experience with a variety of sterilizers (steam/gravity, Sterrad, etc.)
- Familiarity with setting up and organizing OR instrument trays
- Strong working knowledge of surgical instruments and OR workflows
- Ability to maintain accurate records and sterilization logs
- Basic computer skills and comfort using inventory or tracking systems
