Sierra Endoscopy Center has a part-time opening for a Business Office Float/Insurance Verifier

Sierra Endoscopy Center is an outpatient facility specializing in gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures. Our center is committed to providing exceptional care with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office necessary. Many duties including scheduling, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient calls and chart building.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Insurance Verification:

  • Verifies insurance prior to patient's arrival, to include "Add On's and Direct Admits"
  • Obtains pre-certification from insurance companies for procedures that require pre-certification.
  • Requests office notes from referring physician if needed for Authorization.
  • Calculating and Informing patients of amount due
  • Communicating with the Dr. offices
  • Prepare charts for next day's surgeries.  Ensure all required forms are placed in designated areas of the patient's chart

Surgery Scheduling:

  • Coordinates with anesthesia, physician groups, and others as needed to confirm scheduling for coverage.
  • Coordinate scheduling with patient.
  • Verifies information being entered into system is correct; i.e. spelling of name, DOB, gender, insurance information, etc.
  • Communicates schedule changes to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure scheduling accuracy in systems and all parties are notified.

The pay Range is $24.00 - $28.00/hour, based on experience.   


Required Skills

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- 2 or more years of hospital or medical office experience required.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
- Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
- Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.
- Extreme multi- tasker
- Strong medical terminology.
- Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

-  Ability to diffuse difficult scheduling conflicts efficiently with strategy.
