USPI Northwest Surgery Center is seeking a motivated RN PreOp PACU to join our team. Conveniently located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus. We have 7 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Job Summary: Pre-Op responsibilities included but are not limited to admitting the patient to the clinical area and providing nursing care to the preoperative patient, as well as, developing a nursing care plan specifically designed for the individual patient. Post-Operative Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities include are not limited to patients entering the postoperative phase of treatment, responsible for assessing the patient's condition and readiness for discharge.
Employees may be cross trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient needs change.
Required Skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Texas Nursing License
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACU
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
- Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
