Position Overview: Reporting to and working with the Director of RCM Success, the SWAT Business Office Manager role is responsible to plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the business office on an interim basis. This includes being responsible for coordinating, controlling, and training all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the facility on the daily operations, while demonstrating the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceeds customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a Site Visit and develop an Action Plan during the first visit. Report to be sent to Key Leadership Team (Administrator, RVP, MP, Sr. Director of RCM).
- Create a training plan for the cross-functional training of all business office staff including business office best practices and process improvement.
- Ensure facility leadership is up to date on all managerial functions including the DDL, DEPL, compliance standards and USPI’s policies and procedures related to internal controls.
- Provide oversight into the daily business office functions of the facility including staffing needs, operations budget, and the facilities financial performance.
- Report on pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Key Leadership Team.
- Identify and appoint a Business Office employee who will lead in the absence of the BOM/ SWAT BOM.
- Provide weekly updates on metrics and facility progress through reporting to Key Leadership Team.
Required Skills
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a supervisory, manager or administrative position in a medical setting; hospital, surgery center; physician’s office
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two years of fiscal management experience.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is a must. Experience with Oracle, ADP, Kronos is helpful.
- Sound judgment and strong skills with respect to interpersonal relations, critical thinking, problem solving and analysis
- Must be able to multi-task and handle competing priorities while meeting or exceeding deadlines
- Must possess positive attitude to enhance a cooperative and energetic work environment
- Excellent knowledge of health care billing procedures, documentation, regulations, payment cycles and standards
- Knowledge of governmental regulations.
- Skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of management regarding fiscal policies.
Travel:
- 75% travel within the US. Must be willing to travel to various ambulatory surgery centers to facilitate on-site training based on need.
